Spiritual Thought:  Some comments I wrote to a Mormon going on his Mission” You have a great outgoing personality; The Lord will work through you to reach many.  It just is not baptizing people; it is retaining them; I found that if Converts have a rock solid spiritual witness of The Book of Mormon they tend to stay active.  A Socialized Conversion does not have the deep seeded roots that a spiritual conversion has.  If you can get Investigators to read, ponder and pray, they are more likely to get that spiritual witness.   Kindly note the word "ponder" in the last sentence; as Nephi taught, we must liken the Scriptures into ourselves; this is part of the pondering process.  Those who only read and pray are missing a critical part of their testimony gaining experience.  The old edition of my Missionary White Handbook used to say that spirituality is brought about by reading the word of God and pondering its intent.
