Story 3: The True story of how Saint Nicholas became Santa
Claus. Santa Claus is named after Saint
Nicholas, who was the 15th Apostle of The Lord Jesus Christ. Holy Writ records that the 11 remaining
Apostles gathered together to fill a vacancy in the Quorum of The Twelve
Apostles due to the death of Judas Iscariot. Disciple Matthias was Called to
fill that vacancy in The Quorum of The Twelve Apostles. Saint Matthias became the 13th
Apostle.
The next Apostle to transfer into The Heavens was Saint
James (44 A.D.). After the Apostle James
was martyred, there was another opening in the Quorum of The Twelve
Apostles. Paul filled that open position
as The Apostle Paul becoming the 14th Apostle that had been
Called.
Saint Phillip was martyred in 54 A.D., and he was replaced
by Disciple Nicholas, who became known as Saint Nicholas (the 15th
Apostle). Patron Saint Nicholas (270
A.D. to 343 A.D.) who was from Patara, Turkey (though Greek by nationality), is
named after him. Saint Nicholas was the
Disciple who brought children to Jesus; you may recall the story when some of
the Apostles tried to shush little children way away from Jesus while he was in
reposeful pondering. These were the
children that Disciple Nicholas had brought forward to meet Jesus. Jesus told the Apostles and Disciples to
bring the children unto Him. Disciple
Nicholas used to carve out of wood, little toys, for children. Sometimes Jesus, who was a carpenter, would
also carve little wooden toys for children along with Disciple Nicholas.
Disciple Nicholas and Jesus sometimes, would wrap the toys
in soft parchment to create a more special feeling when the children first
opened their presents. Sometimes,
Disciple Nicholas and The Lord Jesus the Christ would draw images of earlier
Prophets on the wrapping parchment, as well as drawings of animals from the
true story of Noah’s Ark.
The Children loved getting presents from Jesus and His
Disciple Nicholas. Sometimes Disciple
Nicholas and Jesus would take requests for what toys that wanted craved out of
wood. Sometimes, Jesus and Disciple
Nicholas would place the toy presents that were wrapped, under trees or shrubs,
outside where the children lived; then Jesus (or sometimes Disciple Nicholas)
would call for the children to come forth to find them and open them. Jesus used to tell Disciple Nicholas that
when He was born, Wise Men placed gifts on branches from trees and shrubs near
where He lay in the manger.
As the years rolled by, and Saint Nicholas became very old,
it was time for him to transfer into the Heavens. One night, as Saint Nicholas was carving some
toys for little children, The Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ appeared to Saint
Nicholas.
Jesus told Saint Nicholas that He had an Especial Mission
for him. Jesus told Saint Nicholas that
he would never die, but would retransformed in the twinkling of an eye to live
forever, and forever to deliver to children presents to forever remind them of
the presents Jesus received at His Birth, and also the Gift of Eternal Life
that Jesus has given to the Children of all ages of Mankind through His
Atonement, Death, and Resurrection.
Jesus then touched some Reindeer so that they could fly. With that, Saint Nicholas moved up to the
North Pole, where he still resides today.
